Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF)

Malnutrition in children can cause damage to the immune system and can easily lead to deadly diseases such as malaria, pneumonia, measles, as well as to poor child development and brain damage. "Ready-to-use therapeutic food” (RUTF)" includes all the nutrients like vitamins, minerals, fats and proteins that a child needs during his or her development. It comes in peanut butter flavor and by itself can revive up to 90% of malnourished children who do not have medical complications.

Safe Delivery Kit

Packed with forceps to clamp the umbilical cord, scissors for cutting the cord, ample sterile gauze and essential sterilising tools, the "Safe Delivery Kit" provides everything needed to assist in uncomplicated births that don’t require surgical intervention.

Anti-malaria Treatment

Commonly seen in tropical areas, malaria is a neglected disease and the biggest killer of children under age five in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Symptoms include fever, nausea, shock, seizures, coma and renal failure. Malaria may cause death within a few hours if left untreated.

Measles Vaccine

Measles is a deadly, contagious disease that typically strikes children under the age of five. Symptoms can include fever, skin rash that can lead to complications like ear infections, pneumonia and impaired mental development. In many areas where MSF works, children do not routinely receive vaccinations for measles. Measles vaccinations are a key part of MSF’s preventive health measures for children. Measles vaccination campaigns are often carried out for hundreds or thousands of children at once as a preventive health measure.
